Hi I'm brand new here. It seems like this plugin goes very deep, but I'm wondering what is the easiest way to vary a loop or track? Is there some way to click my way through various incarnations of a given loop with different dynamics/rhythmic patterns etc? Running Perc X as a plugin in Ableton Live 10.

Yes absolutely! If you are looking to just spice things up a bit around something existing, the kit generator is one way to go. You can actually lock parameters that you want to keep... e.g. lock the rhythm and ask it to change the instrument.
You can also ask PercX to "look" at a certain track as a reference to generating musically similar/complimentary rhythmic material in other tracks using the "pairing" system. This is all detailed in the manual
